The Interdisciplinary Health Practitioner Network (IHPN) is organising a free meeting about multimorbidity in primary care from research to practice at Centenary Tavern.
Allied health practitioners, GPs, nurses, pharmacists, and any other practitioner who works with people living with mutimorbid conditions is welcome to attend.
The presentation will provide an overview of multi morbidity and co-morbidity, and approaches from the literature. It will then focus on person-centred care in practice.
Guest speaker is Dr Carmel Martin whose research in Australia, Canada and Ireland focused on reforms of primary health care and chronic care. Carmel’s PhD on the care of chronic illness in general practice, explored the nature of the experience of illness and care associated with multi-morbidity from the perspectives of those afflicted and their GP as the key ‘users’ of care.
