In 2016 Hepatitis Queensland began discussions with the Queensland African Communities Council and African Leaders in Brisbane on the idea of making a short film to raise awareness of hepatitis B for the African/Australian community in Queensland. The outcome is the short film ‘Dancing in the Rain’ which follows TK and his family as he learns about hepatitis B after the death of his mother.

The aim of the film is to raise awareness of hepatitis B and highlight the importance of being tested, and if found to have the virus, engage in regular monitoring, and treatment if necessary. The film explores these serious issues in a light hearted way that we hope engages the audience and raises awareness of hepatitis B amongst the African/Australian community in Queensland.

This is a free event, but please RSVP by emailing herbprojects@hepqld.asn.au or 3846 0200 with the number of attendees for catering purposes.
