Recognise, Respond, Refer – An Integrated Health Response to Domestic and Family Violence Request for Proposal
Brisbane South PHN invites eligible organisations to submit a proposal to develop and deliver a program of training and education to a cohort of General Practices across the South Brisbane PHN region.
The purpose of the program is to build the capacity of the primary health care sector, in particular general practice staff, to identify signs of Domestic & Family Violence; sensitively make enquiries; and effectively respond.
The specialist training will deliver the following program objectives:
- Development and delivery of education (in consultation with Brisbane South PHN) to inform General Practices on the issues of Domestic & Family Violence, how to safely respond, who to refer to and where to seek support and guidance;
- Enable use of up to date referral guidelines and pathways to manage disclosures and identifications of abuse;
- Robust, quality data that informs service model development, outcomes and performance.
Brisbane South PHN will work closely with successful service provider/s to establish this important service.
The initiative is expected to be established by 6th November 2017 and will be funded until 28th June 2019.
